Ten-man Kano Pillars secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Wikki Tourist in a rescheduled matchday 11 Nigeria Professional Football League clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Wednesday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The only goal of the game came in the 35th minute through Alassan Ibrahim who scored directly from a corner kick.
However in the final minute of the game, Kano Pillars had a player sent off after Nafiu Kabuga received his matching orders.
It was Kano Pillar's sixth victory this season, with two losses and three draws, while Wikki have now lost six games.
The win lifts Kano Pillars from seventh to third on 20 points in the league table with a game in hand.
Wikki Tourist remain 19th on 11 points.
In another rescheduled game played on Wednesday, newly promoted Remo Stars' struggle in the NPFL continued as they were convincingly beaten 3-0 by FC IfeanyiUbah at the IfeanyiUbah International Stadium.
A brace from Godwin Obaje and a solitary strike from Adou Blaise set up the win for IfeanyiUbah who are now off the relegation zone and up to 14th on the log.
Remo remain rooted to the bottom of the league table.
Obaje gave IfeanyiUbah the lead in the 53rd minute from the penalty spot following a handball by Remo's Ekene Awazie inside the 18-yard box.
Blaise made it 2-0 in the 84th minute as he powered home Alberico Da Silva's free-kick.
And in the 91st minute, Obaje bagged his brace after heading in another Da Silva free-kick to make it 3-0.
