El-Kanemi Warriors eased their relegation fears following a 2-0 home win against 10-man Niger Tornadoes in a Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 34 fixture on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Chinedu Ohanachom broke the deadlock late in the first half after he was played through on goal by Matthias Samuel.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute after their goalkeeper Mustapha Aliko was sent off for a foul on substitute Japhet Daniel in the box.
The penalty was converted by Hussaini Mohammed who sent substitute goalkeeper Nobas Omoregie the wrong way.
El-Kanemi Warriors jumped from 14th position to 10th place following the win, while Niger Tornadoes remain in the 13th position.
Seven other fixtures will be played across different centres on Sunday.
