NPFL Matchday-11: Lobi Seek 1st Away Win At Plateau Utd.; Rangers Host ABS, Gun For Lifeline 3rd Win

Nigerian Professional Football League leaders, Plateau United are looking to bounce back with a win and extend their lead at the top when they host Lobi Stars at the Rwang Pam Stadium Jos in their matchday-11 fixture on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
 

Plateau United slumped to a 1-0 defeat in their previous game away to FC IfeanyiUbah in Nnewi, but will fancy their chances against Lobi Stars who are yet to win an away game this season. Lobi are currently fifth in the NPFL log with 15 points from ten games.
 
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday, NPFL reigning champions, Enugu Rangers International will fight to secure their third win of the campaign against ABS who are unbeaten in their last three games.
 
Rangers were outclassed 2-1 away to MFM last Friday – their third defeat of the season. They are languishing in the 18th position after ten matches.
 
In the last six encounters between Rangers and ABS, both teams have won three games and lost three.
 
In Maiduguri, second placed El Kanemi Warriors are gunning to stretch their winning run at the El-Kanemi Stadium to 19 games and keep pace with leaders Plateau United at the top of the log if they see off a resurgent Sunshine Stars.
 
The Owena Whales recorded a famous win over Rivers United last Sunday – their third of the season. Sunshine Stars have earned two points in five away games against Abia Warriors and Nasarawa United so far this term.
 
At Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Wikki Tourist and Rivers United FC – two teams who lost their away fixtures to ABS and Sunshine Stars respectively on matchday-10, will be desperate to return to winning ways in their matchday-11 encounter.
 
Both teams are with two outstanding games. Rivers United FC are in the 14th position while Wikki are further down in the 17th position.
 
Kano Pillars' 1-0 win over Katsina United at the Sani Abacha Stadium will certainly give the Sai Masu Gida a morale boost as they seek crucial points on the road on Wednesday.
 
Pillars are still seventh in the log and hope they can improve on their three-game winning streak by claiming their first away win of the season (fifth win of the campaign) away to Remo Stars who held 3SC 1-1 in Ibadan last weekend.
 
Ninth placed Enyimba are looking to recover from their two consecutive away  games at Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars when they host Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the U.J Esuene Stadium Calabar.
 
The Gbenga Ogunbote's side remains unbeaten at home this season, winning all four home matches against Sunshine Stars, Gombe United, Nasarawa United and Akwa United.
 
At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, MFM FC will be targeting their second away win of the season when they take on hosts Katsina United. The Olukoya Boys have recorded four points from three points away from home while tenth placed Katsina United have not lost at home since returning to the elite division this season.
 
FC Ifeanyiubah are aiming to record their fourth win of the campaign against Gombe United FC at the Pantami Stadium.
 
Niger Tornadoes FC and Abia Warriors will battle for the three points at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
 
Akwa United FC play away at Nasarawa United who lost 2-0 to El-Kanemi Warriors at the Lafia Township Stadium on Thursday. The Promise Keepers are unbeaten in their last three games.
 
Remarkably,  92 games have been played in the NPFL so far this season, with 173 goals scored.
