Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC coach Fidelis Ilechukwu hopes his team’s poor away form in the Nigeria Professional Football League will be halted in Sunday’s matchday 32 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League against Remo Stars at Gateway Stadium, Sagamu, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
MFM currently second in the NPFL table with 52 points, three points adrift of leaders Plateau United, have lost 11 away games and drawn three on the road this season.
“Only Plateau United (two away wins, six away draws) and Akwa United (one away win, six away draws) have picked up more away points than us (MFM),” Ilechukwu told Completesportsnigeria.com on Saturday.
“We’ve had one win versus Sunshine away, and three draws in the first round of the season. We really need to get three points away from home again.
“Admittedly we’ve not really had good results at our away matches and that is not a trend I want us to finish the season with.
“My players are geared up for this match against Remo Stars. Remo have a good team and are only unlucky to find themselves in the position they are in so we’re not taking the match for granted.
“The players never let the bad results away affect them. The focus is always on improving from the previous game and thank God we’ve done well although we obviously want to do better.”
Bottom side Remo Stars have not won in three successive home matches in the NPFL of late, claiming three draws at home and losing four times in total in their last seven matches.
