By Adeboye Amosu: Nasarawa United captain Seun Sogbeso scored a late penalty as his side beat Enugu Rangers 2-1 in their Nigeria Professional Football League match day five fixture at the Lafia City Stadium on Monday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Solid Miners got to a flying start when Abdullahi Abubakar gave them the the lead in the ninth minute.
Rangers however equalised through captain Okey Odita 12 minutes before the end of regulation time.
The hosts were awarded a penalty deep into stoppage time which was converted by Sogbeso.
The win was Nasarawa United’s second of the season and saw them move from 19th to 15th position in the table.
Rangers who have lost three and won two of their five games dropped from 15th to 16th position in the table.
Nasarawa United will face Go Round in their next game, while Rangers United will host Rivers United at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu.
