Match-day 37 fixtures in the Nigeria Professional Football League will witness some mouth-watering contests as the campaign reaches the crucial point, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
League leaders, Enugu Rangers face a tricky road trip tie against already relegated Ikorodu United at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.
The hosts have lost only once in their last six games and will be keen to continue on their impressive run.
A win for the visitors will put them in firm control of things heading into the final round of matches next weekend.
Second placed Rivers United who are hoping for a slip up of Rangers, will entertain relegation- haunted Abia Warriors at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt. Defeat or draw in the game could end the title ambitions of the Pride of Rivers.
The away side who moved from 17th to 14th position in the table following a 3-1 win against local rivals, Abia Warriors in a rescheduled fixture on Wednesday will attempt to win the game in order to boost their survival bids.
Another title chasing side, Wikki Tourists will face a tough test against relegation battlers Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
The Tourists must win the tie to keep their title hopes alive, while 3SC need maximum points to stay in the top flight.
Oriental rivals, FC IfeanyiUbah and Enyimba will clash in Nnewi. The home side who sit in fourth position are seeking a continental ticket, while champions Enyimba have nothing but pride to play for in the encounter.
In Makurdi, fifth placed Nasarawa United will tackle Akwa United.
The Solid Miners who sit in ninth position in the table have nothing to fight for, while their guests are also save from relegation.
Northern rivals, El-Kanemi Warriors and Plateau United will do battle in Maiduguri.
The two sides will play for Pride in the game as they have already secured their safety.
Sunshine Stars will host relegation threatened side Warri Wolves in Akure, while Heartland and Kano Pillars will do battle at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
The Naze Millionaires who sit in 18th place
have a slim chance of escaping the drop.
In the last fixture for the weekend, Niger Tornadoes will take on MFM FC at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
Both are fighting to escape the drop and a win for either of them would move them to safety.
