Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has expressed delight with the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL Super 4 billed to take place in the Coal City, Completesportsportsnigeria reports.
The tournament, the first to to be staged in the state, will hold from December 7th to 11th, 2016.
Ugwuanyi who successfully engineered Enugu Rangers to their first NPFL title win in 32 years assured football fans and the League Management Company (LMC) of a successful hosting of the Super 4 tournament.
Ugwuanyi spoke through his Youth and Sports Commissioner, Hon. Charles Ndukwe, describing the hosting of the tournament as an honour to Enugu State and an indication that the state is a frontline football state.
"This is another great football moment for us in Enugu State and our target is not just to host the best NPFL Super 4 tournament but to crown it with victory for Rangers," the Governor was quoted as saying.
Rivers United, Wikki Tourists and FC IfeanyiUbah are the three clubs that will join Rangers for the country's biggest pre-season tournament organised by the League Management Company, (LMC) to help prepare clubs representing Nigeria in the next CAF Club competitions.
