–Vows To Comb Grassroots For Talents
The president of the Nigeria table tennis federation who also doubles as the commissioner for sports Lagos, Enitan Oshodi has expressed his dissatisfaction over the poor performance of the table tennis team to the ongoing 20th edition of the commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland especially the women’s who fell like a pack of cards to opponents in Glasgow.
The table tennis has only won just a bronze medal in the men’s team event of the completion.
Oshodi said it is time to look for young talented table tennis players from the grass roots and expose them to international competitions to replace the aging ones and to put Nigeria to where it was in the table tennis world.
Since the introduction of women’s table tennis in the Commonwealth Games, Nigeria’s women’s table tennis players have not won any medal.
