FC Ifeanyiubah new signing Godwin Obaje is delighted to have finally made his debut for the club and is looking forward to playing in Sunday's CAF Confederation Cup clash against Egyptian club Al Masry, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Obaje, who finished as top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 18 goals last term, made his debut for the Anambra Warriors in last Sunday's 1-0 win against Enugu Rangers following his move from Wikki Tourists.
"I'm happy to kick-start my career with FC Ifeanyiubah on a winning note," Obaje told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Rangers played well in the game and made things difficult for us but we gave our all and picked the three points at the end of the day.
"On a personal note, I hope to score more goals than I did last season and also help the club do well too.''
The Nnewi-based club will play their first game on the continent at 'the Fortress' Ifeanyiubah International Stadium against Al Masry on Sunday.
The 19-year-old Obaje hopes they will win with a wide margin to make the return leg a mere formality.
''The North Africans are always difficult to come up against and it's important we win well and not concede too to make things easy in the second leg."
