–Over Shin Splint Injury , Snubs Belgiaun Offer
Super Eagles fringe striker, Chinedu Obasi is currently in the US where he is expected to see a specialist over his nagging Shin Splint injury.
The player who finally left German Bundesliga side Shalke 04 at the end of 2014/15 season is leaving no stone unturned to return full action when the new soccer season begin, hence his resolve to get a lasting solution to his career threatening injury.
“He is currently in US to see a specialists over his nagging injury, begins our decent source. You know he has finally left Shalke 04 but he is bent on playing football again but he has to treat that injury once and for all,” he added.
Meanwhile, the former Hoffenheim striker has turned down offers from Belgium, Completesports can exclusively report. A top agent (name withheld) had disclosed to CS on Tuesday that Obasi had vehemently turned his back at offer coming from Belgium with preference for English clubs.
“He just told me now that he would never go to Belgium, rather he want me to get offers from England. He said only then can he show interest,” he said.
Obasi last featured for Super Eagles in Nigeria 2-2 draw with Guinea in the 2012 AFCON qualifiers in Abuja, which scuttled Nigeria’s chance of qualifying for Equatorial Guinea. His subsequent call up was hampered by series of injuries.
