Christian Obiozor is understood to be on the verge of sealing his dream move to Enyimba, Completesportsnigeria.com has been informed.
Obiozor joined Kano Pillars before the start of the current campaign but contractual differences that is thought to border on finances forced the player to part company with the current league title holders.
But his desire to lace boots for the six-time domestic champions Enyimba has suffered transfer setbacks following Pillars insistence that it was unprofessional for a player to walk out on his club on the flimsy excuse that he has not been paid.
Checks in the camp of the two-time African chamipons reveal that Obiozor is close to completing his switch to the club.
“What we need here at Enyimba is a quality finisher, a striker who can convert the least scoring chance and Obiozor fits that bill,” offers an official of Enyimba who does not want to be named.
“We’re pursuing his clearance with vigour. What remains now is a few things Kano Pillars have to sign and we are hopeful this could be done before the (transfer) window closes.”
Obiozor was a member of the home based Super Eagles squad that won bronze medal for Nigeria in last year’s CHAN in Cape Town South Africa.
He scored two goals in the tournament which Nigeria parti ipated for the first time.
