–Super Eagles defender confident of victory against Congo
Ahead of Nigeria’s must win 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo this weekend, Godfrey Oboabona has restated his commitment and belief that he and his teammates will succeed and book a ticket to next year’s tournament.
The reigning African champions are currently in an unflattering third position in their group, behind Congo and South Africa – the two countries they must beat to have a shot at qualification – but Oboabona remains confident about their chances saying he is 100% sure Nigeria will qualify.
“I still have confidence we will qualify,” he told sl10.ng. “I don’t have any doubts whatsoever, I am 100% sure we will qualify because I have confidence in the team and I don’t have any doubt,” he said.
The Caykur Rizespor of Turkey central defender, however, acknowledges Nigeria’s current poor run of form, but says they can’t win all games, but reckons they must keep fighting to win as many as possible.
“Sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t, but we have to keep fighting and keep winning as many games as possible and ensure that we get the most important ones,” he added.
