Secretary General of the Nigeria Taekwando Federation, Sunny Obot has assured that the country will meet the new deadline set by the Africa Taekwando Federation for the registration of players and officials participating at the 2016 Rio Olympics qualifiers in Morocco next month.
The Africa Taekwando Union extended the registration deadline from January 10 to 21, and for countries yet to register for the competition to do so.
"Nigeria will meet the deadline for registration of players and officials for the Rio 2016 Olympic qualifier in Morocco," Obot revealed during a sports programme on the network service of Radio Nigeria.
"We are glad that the Africa Taekwando Union extended the deadline for the registration.
"We also hope to procure visas for the team travelling to Morocco for the qualifiers."
The Rio Olympics qualifier will hold in Morocco between February 4-7, 2016.
