Bristol City forward Osaze Odemwingie wants to keep up his 100 per cent goalscoring record at Ashton Gate when they host Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The on-loan Stoke City striker who scored on his home debut in the 6-0 thrashing of Bolton Wanderers and grabbed a vital equaliser in the draw with Rotherham United Tuesday night is keen to make it a hat-trick of home goals – or more – when the play-off chasing Owls visit.
“One of our staff said you must enjoy playing here because that’s two in two,” ex-Nigeria striker Odemwingie told Bristol City Player HD.
“It’s a good fit and it’s important because you always want to do well in your home games.
“Hopefully I can keep doing well here at Ashton Gate.”
Odemwingie also admitted it was something of a culture shock for him playing in a scrappy game against Rotherham United but was glad that his side are close to safety following the crucial point.
“There wasn’t a lot of football played and I’ve forgotten what it’s like to play in that sort of match,” he added.
“I’ve had it a few times in my career and I can understand why fans don’t enjoy it; you just have to get the job done.
“I think the head coach is happy with the point. We’re closer to safety after other results went our way, but we still want to finish as high up the table as possible. That’s our aim – and it’s a good message for the head coach to send to the players. We can’t relax."
