Nigerian striker Stephen Odey was in the winning side in his first start for Swiss club FC Zurich who beat their hosts St. Gallen 3-1 in their Switzerland Super League clash on at the Kybunpark on Sunday.
Odey was however replaced by Ghanaian forward Rapheal Dwamena who bagged FC Zurich’s third goal of the game.
It was Odey’s second appearance in the league for FC Zurich since his switch from Nigeria Professional Football League club MFM FC although he has featured in two cup games for the club.
The young forward who scored 18 goals for MFM in the NPFL last season made his debut for FC Zurich in the 2-1 defeat against Young Boys on November 19.
He has been an unused substitute six times for the club.
FC Zurich raced into a 2-0 in the encounter through Victor Palsson and Adrian Winter.
Roman Buess reduced the deficit for the hosts before Dwamena makes the points safe bygrabbing his side’s third eight minutes from time.
The club remain third in the table, eight points behind league leaders Young Boys who lost 3-1 against FC Thin on Sunday.
