Nigeria Professional Footbsll League top scorer, Steven Odey, is delighted to have surpassed his goal tally of last season with a brace for MFM FC in their Sunday's 2-1 win against Plateau United at Agege Stadium Lagos, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Odey scored nine NPFL goals for MFM in his debut season last term , but has fired in ten goal in ten games for the Olukoya Boys this season.
The 19 year old told Completesportsnigeria.com after the game that he was eager to score more goals to help the team achieve its objective at the end of the campaign.
"I am delighted with this brace, but particularly the three points against a good side like Plateau United," Odey said.
"I scored nine goals in over 26 games last season but after ten games this season, I have scored ten. It's a great feeling and I want to score as much as I can.
"I won't be setting a goal target for myself," Odey who got a standing ovation at the Agege stadium when he was replaced in the closing stages of the encounter reiterated.
On his Super Eagles snub for the fortcoming friendlies against The Teranga Lions of Senegal on Thursday, March 23 and Burkina Faso four days later on the 27th of March, 2017, Odey said he will keep scoring to earn his invitation to the senior national team.
"I'm not worried about that, but I will keep scoring goals to help MFM," he stated.
MFM who are yet to lose a home game this season are now second in the NPFL log, one point behind Plateau United with a game in hand. They host Rivers United in a rescheduled game on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium..
