Nigeria midfielder John Ogu has expressed delight after opening his goal account for Hapoel Beer Sheva in their 4-0 rout of visiting Maccabi Netanya, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The game which was Ogu’s ninth since joining the Israeli side from Academica de Coimbra, saw the powerful midfielder score the third goal in the 58th minute.
He went on to dedicate the goal to the club fans.
He wrote on his twitter page: “Thank you lord for the victory and my first goal for Hapoel Beer Sheva..So I dedicate my goal to my fans.”
Ogu who featured for the Super Eagles at last year’s FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil, was left out of the squad to the World Cup where Nigeria got to the round of 16.
He was also left out of the AFCON qualifiers as the team failed to pick one of the tickets for the 2015 edition in Equatorial Guinea.
