Ogu: Eagles Will Bounce Back From Congo Defeat

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is not pertubed by the shock 3-2 defeat suffered by Nigeria on Saturday against Congo in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

Stephen Keshi’s team were defeated 3-2 in their first game of the qualifying games to Morocco 2015 where they are expected to defend their title which was won last year in South Africa.

Ogu who was not part of the team that tasted defeat at the stadium took to Twitter after the game to calm the the frays of disappoionted Nigerians who saw the Congo side dominate for most part of the game.

“No be us again? We will bounce back. It was a wake up call. (Super Eagles’) Next game will be better…#GOSUPEREAGLES,” Ogu tweeted.

The Super Eagles will find out on Monday morning, if they will indeed travel to South Africa for the game against South Africa as they could be stopped by a probable ban from FIFA as a result of the administrative crisis in the football house caused by the defiant stance of Chris Giwa not to vacate the NFF office following the NFF Executive Congress of August 26 which he claimed brought him to ‘power’ as the boss of the Nigeria Football Federation.

John Ogu thanks for your confidence. However I dont thinkNigeeria problem is confidence

Nigeria Lacks Creativity and a Playmaker. Nigeria has no individual match winner to turn a game around when the team is not playing well. Nigeria has multitude of defensive and combative midfielders and this is a big big problem.

My suggestion is that Nigeria bring in Iheanacho and Chuks Aneke for creativity and also Isaac Success for his understanding with Iheanacho. Success has already broken into the first team in Granada. Aneke is and Arsenal product and has played over 80 games in English club. He has played in every game for top division Belgium club both in the league and in the Europa Cup. These young men are very skill, talented and are ready and hungry to deliver. Aneke has already played more games this season than Ruben Gabriel played the whole of last season.

The lack of creativity and imagination killed Nigeria in the game VS Iran, VS france and now vs Congo. With better creative players Nigeria would most likely have gotten a result Vs Argentina. I like Uche Nwofor but he is currently without a club. I dont thing he should be starting for Nigeria.

I was expecting to watch the skillful Sunny Aluko in action and it seems he was on the bench throughout the game. What is Keshi’s problem with that young man na

I think I agree with Francois. In many games the Eagles have played the lack of creativity was clear. Oga Keshi please do some thing about this problem ohh. I take God beg u.

  • all positions cursed us the game the gk was not in his best the defence was not solid the mifield lacks creativity and a playmaker and the striking forces did’nt live up to their expectation and keshi made a very big mistake by starting uche nwofor instead of emenike and my advise to keshi is to call up ike uche who is currently in a top form for villareal in spainish league am confident that the super eagles of nigeria will defeat the bafana bafana of south africa on wednesday
