Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is hoping to win a title with Hapoel Beer Sheva of Israel at the end of the ongoing season.
Hapoel Beer Sheva are in contention for the Ligat Al and the Israeli Cup and Ogu who missed out on Portuguese Super Cup game against Porto when he was at Academica is hoping to to win his first silverware with the club that also parade Super Eagles goalkeeper Austin Ejide.
“I hope to win my first medal here in Israel this season,” Ogu who has scored four times for Hapoel begins in a chat with Complete Sports.
“We are in the semi-finals of the Israeli Cup now, waiting to know who we are to play and we have a chance of winning because we have Maccabi Tel Aviv and two teams from the second division left in the competition.”
He however refused to rule out a move away from the club in the summer as the club is yet to offer him a new deal.
Ogu signed a one year deal with an option of three years.
Well, I really don’t know what the future has for me now but all I can say is I signed a 1 + 3yrs optional here and presently, I’m enjoying my football here. But we will see what for the future for me and my career.
“I have not been offered a new deal and I’m not in a rush but when the time comes, I will decide but I just want to keep working and focus on the upcoming games and my target as a player and for the team.
Hapoel are third on the Ligat log six points behind the leader and two points behind the second place team.
