As the Super Eagles prepare for the double header friendly matches against Uganda and South Africa, recalled Eagles midfielder and Hapoel Beer’Sheva player, John Ogu says he is in the team because the coaches and Nigerians believe in his quality.
Ogu last played for the Eagles in 2013 as a second-half substitute, replacing Oduamadi in the 2-2 draw against Italy in an international friendly. The attack minded anchor man moved to Israel after his contract with Académica ran out.
He got a recall to the Eagles after the team failed to qualify for the 2015 AFCON and the team is supposedly going through a rebuilding process without a substantive Coach.
Ogu said: ”Am back in the National team because the Coaches and Nigerians believe in my abilities, I’d keep doing my thing, work hard and play my game on the pitch. We’re all out here for a purpose, more so, working toward one goal which is to win for the Country.
” It’s a privilege to play with this set of footballers and I want to do my best whenever I put on the shirt, to go there and do my thing,” the 26-year old midfielder toldwww.footballlive.ng.
