Ogu: Johannesburg Heat Won’t Stop Super Eagles

Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder, John Ogu insists that the unfavourable weather condition in Johannesburg won’t deter the team from achieving its targets reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

 

Super Eagles will have a feel of the FNB stadium, venue of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa later today (Friday) under the scorching heat in Johannesburg to acclamatize to the weather condition and Ogu believes the team will cope.

 

The weather forecast in Johannesburg, South Africa is 33° Celsius.

 

The session will be the Super Eagles first since they arrived Johannesburg from Asaba, Delta State Nigeria by 3:30am.

 

“We are here to do our nation and ourselves proud,” Ogu told CSN.

 

“The weather conditions and all The antics won’t deter us because we want to win to qualify for the Africa Cup Nations that’s our target.”

 

Ogu, is expected to feature alongside Oghenekaro Etebo in Super Eagles’ midfield for the game on Saturday in the absence of Wilfred Ndidi.

 

The game will be Ogu’s second appearance in the AFCON qualifiers for the Super Eagles.

 

The Super Eagles have recorded nine points from four games one ahead South Africa in second place. Libya are third with four points while Seychelles on one point occupy bottom place.

    The truth is that its summer currently in South Africa. Even native south africans are feeling the heat. They normally have water breaks in their league matches since the beginning of summer and the time for their matches was also moved from 14:30 to 15:30 because of the heat. SO its not only the eagles that will feel the heat….even the natives will feel it too. Person wey masqurade dey pursue make e persevere…bcos as him dey tire na so the masquerade sef go tire
