Ogu Laments Sending Off
By James Agberebi:

Nigeria midfielder John Ogu has expressed sadness following his sending off despite scoring the first goal in Hapoel Beer Sheva’s 2-1 win at home against Hapoel Petah Tikva.

Ogu who was on from the start, opened scoring on 16 minutes before he was shown a straight red card by the referee on two minutes added time.

Reacting to his goal and the sending off, Ogu went on to lament the game he will miss against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday January 5.

He wrote on his twitter page: “Happy to have scored and also getting the three points, but gutted to have been sent off and will miss the game against MTV.”

The goal against Hapoel Petah Tikva was Ogu’s second for his side since joining them in the summer from Academica De Coimbra.

His first goal came against Maccabi Netanya in a 4-0 win.
