Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is poised to sign an improved contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva before the end of the month, the player has informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 27-year-old Nigerian international who penned a new four-year deal last year is on the verge of signing a new bumper deal following his scintillating performances at the club last season.
“It’s almost trashed out. I will sign a new improved deal at the club,” the Nigerian international told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ogu who is still ruing the painful exit of his club in the UEFA Champions League says he is eager for Hapoel's Europa League opening fixture against Inter Milan at the San Siro next week.
“I’m looking forward to our Europa League campaign and also working hard on how to become a better player than I was last season,” he added.
“The UEFA Champions League experience where we lost out to Celtic in the play-offs was crazy but I hope we can find our rhythm in this competition to qualify for the next round.”
Hapoel Be'er Sheva face daunting fixtures against Inter Milan, Southampton and Sparta Prague in Group K.
And the former Uniao de Lieria and Academica star is not scared about facing two high-profile teams in the group.
“I’m ready for them all and as you know Hapoel fear no team.”
