Ogu Sets Sights On New Season After Bafana Shock

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has already set his sights on the new Israeli top flight season, putting behind him Nigeria's shock 2-0 Africa Cup of  Nations defeat to South Africa.

Ogu was in the Hapoel Beer Sheva squad that won the Israeli league last season.

His Nigerian teammate Anthony Nwakaeme was voted the best player in the Israeli league for the just concluded season.

Ogu made 30 league appearances for Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the league, scoring just one goal in the last campaign.

"Looking forward to the New season. God's plans are always the best," Ogu wrote on his Twitter handle on Monday.

On Saturday, Ogu was left out of the Super Eagles team that lost 2-0 to South Africa in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
