Ogu Thrilled As Be’er Sheva Bag Massive Win, Inch Closer To Israeli League Title

By Adeboye Amosu:                                                                                                                                                                                            Nigeria midfielder, John Ogu,   is delighted to see his Israeli club, Hapoel Be’er Sheva beat title rivals, Beitar Jerusalem, in Saturday’s crunch encounter at the Teddi Malicha Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Barak Bakhar’s men moved closer to winning the title with a comfortable 4-1 win against their hosts.

Beitar Jerusalem scored first through Ben Ezra in the 22nd minute but the visitors rallied back with four goals in the second half.

Hatem El Hamed equalised for Hapoel Be’er Sheva two minutes after the break, while Hanan Maman gave them the lead for the first time five minutes later.

Ben Sahar took the game beyond the home team with another goal in the 64th minute.

Ogu’s international teammate, Anthony Nwakaeme added the fourth 10 minutes later – his 10th league  goal of the season in 27 appearances.

“Thank you lord for last night’s Win!!! 🙏🏼🙏,” Ogu wrote on his Twitter handle on Sunday.

Ogu, who received a yellow card in the game seven minutes from time, has made 27 league appearances for Be’er Sheva this season and has scored three times.

Hapoel Be’er Sheva sit at the top of the table with 74 points from 33 points, while Beitar have 66 points from same number of matches.

  • Well done John Ogu. Continue working hard and stay focus because you have it in you to do well at the World Cup if selected.

Your delicious long range finesse shot against Algeria is still fresh in the mind.

More of that to come this summer bro.

    Well-done bro…
Hope to see you in russia

  • mutum 7 months ago

I doubt if he will make the cut to Russia. he is presently behind Mikel agu in that posotion.we all know the rohr prefers agu to ogu. I hope n wish he makes it. The truth is we have not seen enough of John ogu and mike Agu in the eagles. The only make cameo appearance for the eagles. personally, I prefer ogu cos of his strength n stamina.

Tell them their player wont make the cut.He did not get a minute during WCQ,

John Ogu is far better than that guy called Mikel agu. And Agu has been playing for his club since he returned back from injury.
JOHN OGU IS ALSO INFORM NOW…

    • Ayphillydegreat 7 months ago

Agu has been warming the bench for the last five games or so. Shehu is the one playing regularly. Shehu is far ahead of both Ogu and Agu in that Midfield if needed even though he’s undisputed right back or wing back for the team

    …has NOT been playing…

Agu is not a threat to ogu, hes is fighting with etebo, or joel Obi, to partner Ndidi if rohr elect to discontinue ndidi/ onazi combo which offers little or nothing going forward, and I think he has a very good chance, among all the candidates for the central defensive role, this role requires both defensive and attacking skills, I would have picked joel obi but he is injury prone and his performance in the friendlies surgests he need time to gel with his teammates, so I pick ogu, he proved himself against algeria and argentina.

  • Chairmanfemi 7 months ago

I would personally prefer Ndidi/John Ogu’s combo in midfield cuz he offers huge support to the team when attacking and when the ball drops back during attack,he has the long range shot(killer) but Onazi on the other hand mostly performs the duty of Wilfred Ndidi that is recovering the ball from opponents and when he tries to go forward,he balloons the ball into the air unlike John Ogu whose Long range shot are most times on target as he showed us during Algeria,Argentina and even Poland match

Ogu has an attribute which is lacking in the midfield and that pace and accurate shots… I think a pair of him and ndidi with Mikel and moses… Using the 4-1-4-1 formation..

Ogu playing in isreal is not in same class like Agu.
Agu is highly rated than him ,make una stop all this fake talk.
He has a new coach it is normal.

  • mutum 7 months ago

@lamber! football no the hide for body o. if u are good u are good. how many loan spell agu don go? he played for fc porto only on pre seasons. ogu is far far better joor.

    • lambert 7 months ago

Porto is in same class as isreal? how come d coach did not use him throughout the WCQ?If it is easy let ogu go Turkey abi Isreal na him papa house?
If obi is fit ogu wont go to wc.

  • No sentiments ogu is far better than agu,and let me remind u dat ogu was many years in portugal b4 he left for isreal.and he is constant at europa league.xo i don’t know were yur argument is coming from

  • Ayphillydegreat 7 months ago

Ogu will make the team albeit as a backup. Unless if J obi and Ndidi are not fit enough. If the coach invites Anderson Esiti he may miss out if he fail to perform better than him. The fact that he can be deadly at long range efforts give him an edge to at least be in final 23, but I will prefer a fit Joel Obi ahead of him
