–In Friday’s All Africa Games qualifier
Super Falcons coach Edwin Okon has called on the senior women’s national team not to underrate Mali when both teams clash on Friday in a 2015 All Africa Games qualifier scheduled for Abuja.
The senior national women’s team played a 1-1 draw in the first leg match played in Mali and are expected to beat the visitors on Friday to qualify for the All Africa Games billed to hold in Congo later in the year.
“We played the first leg match in Mali and it ended 1-1 which was a good result for us but we are not going to rely on that and say we can beat them easily here without working hard. I have told the players that they should not underrate them; they should see them as a team that is even stronger and approach the game like that,” says Okon.
The team presently camped in Abuja is also enjoying all the support they need from the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF ahead of the Friday’s match.
“So far, the football house has been doing their best to support the team and also make sure that we qualify for both the All Africa Games and the Olympic Games.
Liverpool Ladies of England star, Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie are already in the camp to boost the morale of the players ahead of the match.
