Indiana Pacers’ Nigerian star, Victor Oladipo, outshone D’Tigers star and Portland Trail Blazers guard, Al Farouq Aminu in a NBA clash early Friday morning (Nigerian time) at the Moda Center despite the Pacers’ losing 100-86, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
The defeat stretched the Indiana Pacers’ winless streak in Portland to 11 years. The last time Indiana Pacers’ won in Portland was in November 28, 2007, while the win was the Portland Trail Blazers’ fifth consecutive home game so far this season.
Oladipo who missed out on the NBA All-Star game starters was joint top scorer for his team in the defeat along with Darren Collison with 23 points.
The former Oklahoma City Thunder star also had seven rebounds and three assists for Indiana Pacers who suffered their 21st defeat of the campaign. The Pacers are sixth in the Eastern Conference despite the defeat.
Aminu, making his 31st appearance of the campaign, scored 12 points with nine rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes for the Portland Trail Blazers’ who recorded their 22nd win of the season to move up one place to sixth in the Western Conference.
The 27 year old Aminu has now averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds in his last four games against the Indiana Pacers.
The Portland Trail Blazers host the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday in their next NBA game at the Moda Centre where they are unbeaten in their last five games while the Indiana Pacers will look to return to winning ways at Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
