Fortuna Sittard's Nigerian coach Sunday Oliseh has attributed his side's recent defeats in the Dutch second division to the absence of three key players in the squad, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Oliseh's Fortuna Sittard lost consecutive games against NAC Breda and VVV Venlo and were without their influential players Emrah Bassan, Kamen Hadzhiev and Ferry de Regt.
The former Super Eagles coach believes Fortuna Sittard suffered for it but hopes the poor run ends with a win on Friday.
"As a team, the absence of these players (Bassan, Hadzhiev and de Regt) was obvious and it affected the team," Oliseh told Completesportsnigeria.com ahead of his side's home clash against De Graafschap.
"We hope to return to winning ways. I thank God that for the six-game unbeaten streak. We had almost everybody fit and no red cards."
Oliseh’s club now occupy the 16th position with 31 points from 30 games
