—Eagles Coach Insists Wolverhampton Star Remains First Choice

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has risen in defence of the bench role the team's first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme plays in his English Championship side, Wolverhampton Wanderrs, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Although, he expressed concern over the fact that Ikeme does not play regularly for Wolves FC, Oliseh believes that this is not due to dip in form but politics in the club.
Fielding questions in Abuja on Wednesday, Oliseh said: "I am worried that Carl is not playing regularly for his club and that is not because he is not good but politics in the club. For Eagles, he has not been found wanting so I keep calling him."
On the none invitation of Daniel Akpeyi since he took over as Super Eagles coach, Oliseh said he did not shut out the Chippa United goal stopper, stressing that he cannot have everybody at the same time.
The former Eagles captain said he would continue trying players who are doing well but he also has the task of blending the team, saying he will only be introducing new players gradually.
