Fortuna Sittard coach, Sunday Oliseh, believes his side will face a tough test against current leaders of the Dutch second division, VVV Venlo in a league game on Friday reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Oliseh who will take charge of his tenth game in the Eerste Divisie admits that there's a huge gap between VVV Venlo and Fortuna Sitters, but says his side will remain focused on getting enough points to stay up.
The former Ajax and Juventus midfielder racked up 16 points from a possible 27, recording four wins, four draws and one defeat since he took charge in January.
Oliseh also predicts that Fortuna's Friday's opponents will be promoted at the end of the season.
"We want to make our fans proud," Oliseh begins during his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of the game.
"It is going to be difficult, but we will do everything. Tourist (VVV Venlo) are the leader and will be promoted to the first division in Holland."
"In financial terms and in terms of structure, they are miles apart from us. But we are going for it."
"The difference between the first game after the winter against Achilles and now is we have more points. These points make the lives of the players, staff and everyone else a lot easier in the club.
"We promised to do everything to keep Fortuna in the Jupiler League and not to see them relegated. My players always do their best and we have developed our own style of play. Our goal is to play and get more points to be safe and we are now working hard on it."
