Ex-Super Eagles captain and coach Sunday Oliseh has hailed his Dutch second division club Fortuna Sittard for ending the season on a high following their 3-0 home win on Friday against Volendam who will be involved in the play-offs to the top flight, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Goals from Jorrit Smeets, Ferry De Regt and Roald van Hout sealed the convincing win for Oliseh's Fortuna Sittard.
Smeets opened scoring in the 33rd minute before Regt doubled their lead in the 42nd minute.
And in the 90th minute, Hout rounded off the emphatic win by getting on the score sheet.
Oliseh took to his Twitter handle to congratulate his players and fans for finishing the season in the best possible way.
"What a phenomenal way to end the season! 3-0 victory over top five and playoff favourites Volendam. Congrats to my players, fans and club Fortuna Sittard," Oliseh wrote on Twitter.
Fortuna Sittard finished 17th on 39 points in the 20-team Dutch second division league championship.
They were in serious relegation trouble before Oliseh took over in mid-season and would have finished much higher if not for a nine-point deduction by the Dutch FA for mismanagement.
