Former Super Eagles skipper Sunday Oliseh has expressed his delight following his club, Fortuna Sittard’s emphatic 5-1 home win against Dordrecht in their first game of the Dutch Jupiler league (second tier) on Friday night, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Reacting to the impressive win, Oliseh hailed players and fans of Fortuna for their part in the win.
“Pleased With our 5-1 victory over Dordrecht Yesterday @fortunasittard to Kick-start our Season. Proud of our Players, fans & club. God is Great,” Oliseh tweeted on his Twitter handle.
Lisandro Semedo opened scoring for Fortuna in the 15th minute before Finn Stokkers doubled the lead on 25 minutes.
Stokkers made it 3-0, but Dordrecht pulled a goal back through Gustavo Named a minute later.
In the 65th minute Fortuna went 4-1 up through Andre Vidigal before Stefan Askovski completed the rout in the 90th minute.
In added time, Dordrecht’s Said van Wesmeskerlen was sent off.
The win took Fortuna to the top of the league table after matchday-one.
In his first season Oliseh and Fortuna Sittard finished 17th in the final standing in the league table.
