Oliseh: Sad Day for Nigerian Football

Former Nigeria skipper Sunday Oliseh has expressed sadness over the Super Eagles failure to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The AFCON 1994 winning midfielder stated that despite beating Congo, the team still failed to finish the job against South Africa.

“A sad day for Nigerian Football. I really believed the decisive one was vs Congo, only for South Africa to spoil it. God knows why, believe me!,” he wrote on his twitter page.

South Africa ensured a 2-2 draw against the Super Eagles in the last group game of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Both South Africa and Congo qualified from group A and will take part in next year’s AFCON in Equatorial Guinea while Nigeria and Sudan were eliminated.

  • Please NFF must report to CAF the case of fielding an eligable player by South Africa a defender by name Sisibuiso Khumalo, who was on suspension for booking in 2(yellow cards) against Congo and Sudan, and their media confirms this fact.

Not only that we do not have a team we lack technical crew that are not biased and who could read game. they just fumble and
    womble

  • I AM SECRETLY HAPPY THAT WE WILL NOT GO TO THE 2015 AFCON. MY FEAR IS THAT HAD IT BEING THAT NIGERIA QUALIFIED, THERE WILL BE THE IN-HOUSE FIGHT TO APPOINT OR NOT APPOINT KESHI WAHALA ALL OVER AGAIN. IF YOU DON’T APPOINT HIM IT WILL BE A SLIGHT ON THE PRESIDENT WHO ORDERED HIS RECALL. NOW WE HAVE A FULL 2 YEARS TO SETTLE MATTER. IHEANACHO AND OTHERS BY THEN WILL BE MATURED. OLISEH, IT IS NOT A SAD DAY BUT A RELIEF DAY FOR NIGERIAN FOOTBALL. I AM RELIEVED FROM ALL THE BACK STABBING AND OTHER WICKED DEEDS IN THE NFF/ AMAJU VS KESHI WAR. KESHI IS A MAN FOR NOT RUBBISHING HIMSELF BEFORE THESE CROOKED NFF MEN. I WILL ADVICE THAT THE CREW OF THE UNDER 17 VICTORIOUS TEAM SHOULD BE APPOINTED THE EAGLES’ COACH IMMEDIATELY.

I VE JUST FINALLY AGREED THAT COACH KESHI HAS BEEN LIVING WITH SOME ELEMENT OF LUCK. HE IS NOT COMPETENT AT ALL TO BE ASSOCIATED OR REFER TO AS A COACH OF A GREAT NATION LIKE NIGERIA.

IMAGINE PLAYER LIKE EMINIKE STROLLING AROUND THE PITCH FOR OVER 90MINUTES YET THE MUMU KESHI CANT EVEN NOTICE THAT AND LEFT THE IDIOT OF A GUY THERE.

WHAT IS OMERUO AND THE OTHER IDIOTS LIKE EGWEKE, AMBROSE & RAHEEM LAWAL DOING ON THAT PITCH.

I CAN BET MY LIVE THAT TEAM LIKE KANO PILLARS AND EYIMBA CAN BEAT THAT SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM SILLY.

ITS HIGH TIME WE START CALLING UP PLAYERS TO CAMP BASED ON THEIR CURRENT FORM AND NOT BY SENTIMENT, QUOTA SYSTEM OR OLD FORM / RECORD OR BY BECAUSE THEY PLAY OR WARM THE BENCH IN OVERSEA TEAM.

I M NOT A PROFEESIONAL PLAYER, BUT I M SURE IF I HAD BEEN FIELDED AGAINST THAT SOUTH AFRICAN SIDE I WOULD VE DONE BETTER THAN THOSE CRAZY SETS OF IDIOTS CALLED PROFFESSIONALS.

  • It is time for Oliseh to take over. We need someone like him with sound understanding of modern day football. someone who can read matches and not a big fool that will just stand there giving himself big names. Saying 50countries are looking for him to come and coach their national teams to failure. Oliseh should work with other experience coach like Obuh and we will have a quality team. Our big for nothing coach is too lazy to search for talent and develop them. Keep using same people even with bandage on their head. From the world cup is team are just bunch of bench warmers in their clubs. Mba and moses was were the brain behind lifting nations cup. He suddenly ignore them. Without solid midfield like Mba and Moses, Emenike will definitely be useless.

Well, what can i say? What i feared the most has finally happened;Nigeria will not be at the AFCON. The Super Eagles of Nigeria become the second defending champion NOT to make it to African Cup of Nations;the first being the Pharaohs of Egypt…hmmm. Let NFF now settle down, clear the dust and start to rebuild because there is still the future to worry about. God bless Nigeria

  • omo9ja 4 years ago

Just a quick question for you my people, Keshi always says is still rebuilding team but my question is, what does he left for his country to be proud of? However, how long does it take to build a solid team? South Africa for example. I’m so sure, we don’t need a foreign coach but the solution to the problem is, Manu Garba should be our new coach while Olishe or Amunike should be his assistant coach because they play total football. God bless Nigeria!

In fact KESHI SHOULD JUST GO NOW BEFORE WE WILL BREAK HIS HEAD AMATEUR COACH HE DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT COACHING HE JUST WON NATION CUP WITH COLLECTIVE EFFORTS KESHI TIME OVER HE SHOULD GO AND COACH ALL 50 COUNTRIES THAT ARE LOOKING FOR HIM NFF SHOULD BETTER JUST LOOK FOR A GOOD FOREIGN COACH TO SAVE OUR FOOTBALL.

Keshi should tender his resignation letter. He has killed our football

It is unfortunate that we did not qualfy for afcon 2015.I recently overcame the pain of not qualifying. Anyway, we shall regroup and qualify for afcon 2017 and 2018 world cup after some overhaul. Nff, please include some of the boys that won u-17 world cup with some of the present super eagles to infuse more into the team.

  • breezzzz 4 years ago

I’ve said it frm d first day he was appointed that keshi is not a good coach. Looking @ d team dat won d nation cup, we’ll see that it was just an individual brilliance rathan than teamwork dat won us d cup. It was obvious from our friendly matches n performance @ d world cup that we are technically defficient. Keshi should pls go and never return again.

Keshi does not even need to resign, except if the NFF gave him a contract recently. The man should move to Benin Republic via a night bus and fly back to the U.S. Simple!

We will mail him his cheque, if any. It is not his fault at all. We retained a man who has resigned his job twice on the pages of newspapers and media houses. Which other office or ministry will tolerate that?

I have said it before that even if we had qualified, he was still not the man. This man was given a brand new stadium, yet he could not deliver. He is still asking of patience from Nigerians. If Nigerians were patient with his predecessor, he would not have gotten that coaching job in the first place.

And if anyone says it is the sole fault of the players, then I will remind him that Keshi invited those same players. Not once, not twice, not thrice even when we were headed on the part of failure, his instinct perceived nothing.

A mixture of u-17 world champions/afcon2013 champion will infuse more energy and life into the super eagles.

  • You are all just repeating all i have been clamouring for, since two years ago. Keshi is a total falure who fights with all our stars and give them different names. See our the whole nation shouted before he recalled Ikechukwu Uche and Osaze, imagine all these people stated with the team from the scratch with the likes of Sunday Mba, Kelechi Iheanacho, Obafemi Martins, John Ogu, Victor Moses and so on………..the man is block headed and has nothing to offer……have been shouting about all these issues since…….thank God that we dint qualify……now people can see where all the problem is coming from ………..we have good attackers far better than Emenike……..who can bench him anytime………..Uche, Anichebe, Martins, Iheanacho etc So that Keshi should just walk away please

After Keshi was relieved of his duties by the present NFF leadership, he immediately started begging to coach Ghana (with an assistant coach that defeated him during the last Chan tournament). Then, he said Nigeria was not even a big footballing nation, because they have only few stadiums with natural grass. And that he had to convince the Uyo state Gov. not to use another artificial grass on the new stadium (what an achievement!).

Guess what? After the completion, the virgin stadium was handed over to him (for our first ever international march, and filled to capacity with enthusiastic supporters), but the big boss could not do any thing.
