Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh, has described Carl Ikeme as one of Nigeria’s greatest goalkeepers, and believes that he has a billion reasons to enjoy his life in retirement with his beautiful family, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Oliseh who handed Ikeme his debut in 2015 against Tanzania in Dar-es-Salam in an African Nations Cup qualifier, believes that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers shot-stopper has lots of reasons to live long for after he was treated for acute leukaemia.
Ikeme revealed he was in complete remission in June, then heed medical advice to quit football.
“Such beautiful kids and family,Carl Ikeme has a billion reasons to have great days for the rest of his life. Stay blessed One of Naija’s greatest!,” Oliseh tweeted on Sunday.
Ikeme kept six clean sheets in ten games for Nigeria and didn’t lose a competitive game while in action for the Super Eagles.
Ikeme and his two children were special guests at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday before Wolverhampton Wanderers played out a 1-1 draw with Premier League champions Manchester City.
