Oliseh’s Fortuna Sittard Crash Out Of Dutch FA Cup

By Johnny Edward: Sunday Oliseh’s Fortuna Sittard crashed out of the Dutch FA Cup on Wednesday, losing to top division side AZ Alkmaar 4-2 at the Offermans Joosten Stadium.

Goals from Djibril Dianessy in the 27th minute and Finn Stokkers in the 48th minute for Fortuna Sittard cancelled out a second minute opener from Wout Weghorst.

Weghorst scored in the 89th minute to draw level for AZ Alkmaar before strikes from Alireza Jahanbakhsh in the 90th minute and Levi Garcia in the 92nd minute sent Fortuna Sittard out of the competition.

The defeat ends Fortuna Sittard winning streak of six games in all competitions.

Oliseh won the KNVB Cup twice as a player for Ajax during the 1997/98 and 1998/99 season.

Fortuna Sittard, who currently lead the Dutch second division table with 38 points from 18 games, will look to bounce back to winning ways when they host Utrecht II in a Dutch second division game on Saturday.
