Super Falcons head coach Florence Omagbemi promised to make the team better after they defeated Senegal to qualify for the Africa Women's Cup of Nations.
The Nigerian ladies booked their ticket to the Africa Women Cup of Nations billed for Cameroun with a 2-0 victory over the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal in Abuja on Tuesday.
Speaking after the game Omagbemi expressed satisfaction with the win but said the team will improve, adding that the Senegalese were too hard and the Nigerians played safe.
"It is work in progress and I believe the team will get better with time," former Nigeria captain Omagbemi told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"The good thing is that we won and have qualified for the AWCON in Cameroun. We shall continue to work hard to get the blend we want. Nigerians should believe in us to deliver."
The hosts after an in impressive start got a penalty in the 25th minute but Arsenal of England star Asisat Oshoala who took the kick, hit the woodwork and shot a follow up wide as the Senegalese girls defended with all their might until they crumbled in the 35th.
Francisca Ordega caused a melee in the Lionesses goal mouth and laid for Rita Wogu to finish cooly.
Falcons scored the second in the first minute of the second half when Osaronoma Igbonovia latched on to a pass from Chioma Wogu to tip over the Senegalese goalkeeper whose saves had ensured that the scoreline was low.
