Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has told Completesportsnigeria.com that he is more than ready to represent Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup holding in Russia this summer.
Speaking to Completesportsnigeria.com at the Domino’s Pizza football tournament organised in Lagos on Sunday, the Chelsea star said the World Cup is very precious to him having featured at the 2014 edition held in Brazil.
“I am glad to be among the players invited by coach Gernot Rohr for the World Cup camping and I can tell you that I am 150% ready to represent my country at the tournament,” Omeruo, who spent the season on loan at Kasimpasa in Turkey, told CSN.
“For me, it is an honour to be invited and I have no choice than to give my best.
“This World Cup is my second and it is very precious to me because this is my year.
“I am looking forward to the World Cup as a player and as a Nigerian.”
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations champion also revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that he will arrive at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Tuesday where they will prepare for the international friendly match against DR Congo on May 28 in Port Harcourt.
“I will be in camp on Tuesday. I have already spoken to the officials that I will be coming to camp on Tuesday and I hope to give my best when I get there,” Omeruo added.
Omeruo who is an ambassador to Domino’s Pizza said his partnership with the company is basically to encourage football fans to enjoy the World Cup with their pizza.
