Omeruo Feared Injured In Kasimpasa Draw

—Super Eagles Defender Plays For Nine Minutes

By Dare Esan:
Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is feared to have been injured during Monday night’s Turkish Super Lig game against Rizespor at the Recep Tayyıp Erdoğan stadium in Istanbul.
The on-loan Chelsea defender was on the field for only nine minutes after making his sixth consecutive start for the Istanbul minnows, making way for Vasil Bozhikov.
Omeruo has been like the Rock of Gibraltar for Kasimpasa since his summer switch from Middlesbrough where he had been on loan for almost two seasons, helping the club gain a reputation as having the meanest defence in the league.
Prior to Monday night’s game, Kasımpaşa had conceded just two goals this season – the best defensive record in the country.
The Istanbul-based side have also kept a respectable three clean sheets already. Omeruo and his partner in crime Titi deserve a lot of the praise in walling off the Kasımpaşa goal from invading teams.
Kasimpasa took the lead in Monday night’s game through Ezequiel Scarione but lost focus in the final minute of the game as they conceded a penalty which Leonard Kweuke confidently tucked away on 90 minutes.
Omeruo’s Nigerian compatriot, Godfrey Oboabona, was on for the whole duration of the game.
