–Boro defender congratulates ‘Super Zee’ on awards
Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has continued his tradition of felicitating with the other national teams, by sending a congratulatory message to Asisat Oshoala, following her double awards at the just concluded FIFA U20 Women World Cup in Canada.
Nigeria lost the Final 1-0 to Germany, but Oshoala won both the Highest Scorer and the Best Player Awards.
Omeruo, in a message sent via his social media page, wrote:
– You girls did us proud. Congratulations to the Best Young Female footballer in the world, Asisat. The Falconets star was the lone player in a team that had four Europeans – two each from France and Germany, in the awards categories.
For the Adidas Golden Ball, Oshoala was named ahead of the French pair, Griedge Mbock Bathy who won the Silver Ball, and Claire Lavogez who won the Bronze Ball.
Nicknamed Superzee by her appreciative team-mates, Oshoala owes her accolade to her speed and nose for goal. The free-scoring forward set several records during the competition and ended it as the leading markswoman to also pocket the Adidas Golden Boot.
The Adidas Silver Boot was won by Pauline Bremer, while the Bronze Boot was won by Sara Dabritz, both are Germans.
