Middlesbrough’s Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo has been included in Aitor Karanka’s squad to face Norwich in Monday’s Championship play-off final at Wembley.
But it remains to be seen if the 22 year old will feature having been an unused substitute in Boro’s last five games in the Championship
Omeruo last featured as a substitute in his side’s 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 14th of April. He replaced Jonathan Woodgate with 28 minutes to play.
The Nigerian international has played second fiddle to the duo of Woodgate and Ben Gibson and may watch from the bench as his teammates battle for promotion to the Premier League which is worth an estimated £120 million to Middlesbrough.
So far this season, Omeruo has featured 22 times for the Riverside team this term eight times more than he did when he joined Karanka’s side in January last year.
