Kenneth Omeruo made his Copa Del Rey debut for Leganes who forced Rayo Vallecano to a 2-2 draw in Tuesday’s first leg round of 32 clashes at the Butarque stadium reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Two goals in five minutes from Alvaro Garcia and Alexander Alegria gave Rayo Vallecano a two-goal lead in the first half but a brace from Youssef En-Nesyri earned Leganes a draw ahead of the second leg billed for the 5th December at the Estadio del Rayo Vallecano.
The game was Omeruo’s fourth for Leganes since he joined the club this summer. The 25-year-old Omeruo is one of the eight defenders called up by Gernot Rohr for next month’s 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Johannesburg.
At the Anxo Carro stadium, Super Eagles midfielder Ramon Azeez made his third Copa Del Rey start of the season for his Spanish Segunda club, CD Lugo in Tuesday’s 1-1 home draw against Levante who paraded another Nigerian international Moses, Simon for 83 minutes in the draw.
Simon was subbed off for Enis Bardhi in the encounter. Cristian Herrera gave the hosts, CD Lugo an 11th minute lead before Borja MAryoral earned Levante a share of the spoil in the 53rd minute.
