Onazi Recovers From Horror Tackle

Lazio and Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is “much better” and training after Blaise Matuidi’s horror tackle.

There were fears the midfielder had fractured his ankle and shin following a shocking challenge from French international Matuidi in their World Cup Round of 16 match.

Onazi posted a picture of his leg in plaster after the June 30 clash and Matuidi expressed remorse for the incident.

However, ‘Eddy’ Onazi has provided a very different image on his Twitter account of him doing some light running on the beach.

“Light workout this morning. Much more better today,” he wrote.

It’s believed the injury is just a very bad ankle sprain and he’ll be ready to begin full pre-season training next month.
