Super Eagles and Trabzonspor FC midfielder, Onazi Ogenyi, rejoined the Turkish club training today after he was offered a week break to visit wife and his new born daughter, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Fanatik reported that the former SC Lazio player became a father last week after his wife was delivered of a bouncing baby girl whom he described as his number one fan.
The club had permitted the midfielder to visit his young family and was told to return to training after the seventh day naming ceremony.
Onazi took part in Trabzonspor's training Tuesday morning at the Melmet Yilmaz facilities ahead of Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig opener against Konyaspor. He was allowed to train separately under the watchful eyes of the club physical trainer, in a bid to regain full fitness ahead of the their match against Konyaspor.
The Super Eagles assistant captain is a sure start in Coach Ersun Yernal's side, having played himself into the heart of the coach last season.
Onazi is expected to train with the entire team on Wednesday.
The Benue state born player had threatened to quit just a year after joining the Turkish club over unpaid wages. He was linked with a move back to Italy with Fiorentina.
He however made a U-turn and decided to stay after reaching an agreement with the Trabzonspor chieftains.
