Agent of Nigerian midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, Jonathan Barnett, has revealed that his client is prepared to stay at Lazio and fight for his place in the team at least for this season.
Barnett also debunked rumours that English Premiership teams, Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham are all keen on the 21-year-old star when the January window reopens.
“Those reports are just rumours. Eddy wants to stay in Rome and prove his worth at the club,” he said.
“It’s true that Lazio this year are finding it difficult to create a space for him but the player is convinced he wants to stay and so it’s really hard to leave the capital.
“I personally have not received any call from these companies, but I don’t know if the clubs mentioned have had contact directly with the SS Lazio.”
Onazi who signed a contract extension at the club in the summer till 2018 has missed his side’s last six Serie A games fuelling speculation about his future at the Rome based outfit.
