Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru, 19, was the hero for AS Eupen as he scored a 96th minute stoppage time winner to hand his side a 1-0 Belgian Pro League win over Gent on Saturday.
Gent paraded Nigerians Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu as starters while Moses Simon came on for Tom Mattson at half time.
The goal was Onyekuru’s tenth of the season in what was his 24th game of the Belgian top flight.
For Esiti and Samuel it was their 14th and third appearances respectively this season while Simon played his 21st game of the season for Gent, scoring thrice.
In England, Alex Iwobi made his 22nd appearance for Arsenal who returned to winning ways by defeating Hull City 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
The Nigerian forward had a hand in the opening goal scored by Alexis Sanchez in the 34th minute of the game. He has three English Premier League goals to his name so far this season.
At Old Trafford, Isaac Success came on for the last ten minutes of Watford’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Manchester United.
The former Flying Eagles forward replaced Craig Cathcart in the encounter.
It was Success’ 11th appearance for the Hornets this term.
In the Championship, Sone Aluko played for 80 minutes for Fulham who edged Wigan Athletics 3-2 in a five goal thriller at the Craven Cottage.
Aluko was lively for Fulham and assisted one of their goals. He was booked in the 12th minute of the encounter and was replaced by Scott Parker. The Nigerian has scored four goals in 30 appearances this season.
At the Molineux stadium, Carl Ikeme conceded his 29th goal in all competitions in action this season for Wolverhampton Wanderers who lost by a 1-0 to Newcastle United. He has made 24 Championship appearances for Wolves this term.
In France, former Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama conceded two goals in action for Lille who lost 2-1 to Angers in Ligue 1.
The 34 year old has made 53 saves and has kept six clean sheets this season.
