Oshaniwa Open To Russia,Turkey Move

–Eagles defender salutes Keshi for World Cup chance

Ashdod of Israel and Super eagles defender, Juwon Oshaniwan has disclosed that he’s open to a move to either Russia or Turkey after sterling performance at the World Cup finals in Brazil.

“Football is all about movement and that is what every player desires, you need to go for greener pasture and mine will not be an exception. I am overwhelmed with the kind of suitors that have been coming my way during and after the World Cup”, the left-back who manned the Super Eagles left back at the World Cup following injury to Elderson Echiejile said.

The former Sharks of Port Harcourt wing-back confirmed there were several offers on the table for him in the aftermath of his World Cup as he expressed gratitude to the Coach Stephen Keshi for making it possible for him to make his World Cup debut for Nigeria.

“After our first game at the World Cup, I received several calls from agents asking me about moving to their clubs but I referred them to my club because I have two more years left on my contract with Ashdod. The decision is not up to me, it is better they discuss with my club.

“I’m not in a hurry for a move even though I would not say no to a move to Russia or Turkey or another league for that matter.

“But if it’s all down to choice, I would prefer to play for clubs in Russia or Turkey.

“I no longer play for name but for money so for now if clubs from Russia and Turkey meet the estimate value of my club I think I prefer to play in these two countries”.

The onetime Lobi Stars of Makurdi ace who claimed he has sealed a place in the Super Eagles would go on to heap plaudits on Super eagles boss, Stephen Keshi for the chance he gave him to play for the Nigeria national team.

“I have been part of the Super Eagles set up since coach (Stephen) Keshi was appointed. I was part of his first camp through qualifiers for the 2013 Nation cup, winning the AFCON trophy and now given the opportunity to play at the World Cup.

“I could not be more grateful to a coach who believed in me. Immediately after our last game at the World Cup, I walked up to him in the dressing room and I poured out my heart in appreciation to him and he replied and told me this is just the beginning that I’ve just started.
