Oshoala Laments Flamingoes’ Failure To Qualify For U-17 Women’s World Cup

By James Agberebi: Super Falcons star striker, Asisat Oshoala, has expressed sadness that Nigeria U-17 women’s team, Flamingoes, will not be at this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.
Needing a win in the return-leg qualifying tie away to Cameroon on Sunday, the Flamingoes could only draw 1-1, hence crashing out on away goals.

The first-leg in Benin ended 2-2, bringing the aggregate score to 3-3 after the second-leg result.

Precious Vincent’s 82nd minute equaliser, which cancelled out Alice Kameni’s opener on 16 minutes for Cameroon, was not enough as the home side held on to qualify for their second FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Reacting to the result, Oshoala expressed her disappointment with five crying emojis.

“No U-17 World Cup For us,” Oshoala wrote on Twitter
