Nigerian-born striker, Chuba Akpom, is delighted to have made his first appearance in the UEFA Champions League when he played a cameo role for Greek club, PAOK FC in Tuesday’s third qualifying round, first leg fixture against Benfica,
Akpom linked up with PAOK from English Premier League club, Arsenal this summer. He didn’t make an appearance for the Gunners in the Champions League during his time at the London club.
He came in as an 87th minute substitute for Aleksandar Prijović in the encounter.
”Debut ✅ Good performance away from home. One last push for qualification. #UCL,” Akpom tweeted on his Twitter handle.
PAOK held their hosts to a 1-1 draw and now have a good chance of making it to the play-off round.
