Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor could be signed by Crystal Palace in the January transfer window to solve their needs in the team's attack, manager Alan Pardew admitted on Friday.
The club's strikers have scored just one Premier League goal this season between them and the team have not won in four games.
Pardew was speaking as his team intensify preparations to face Adebayor's former club, Manchester City, at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“We are trying to bring a striker in, whether it’s permanent or on loan,” he told his press conference. “Steve (Palace chairman) and I are working on it.
“Adebayor is a player that’s there for somebody. It’s a question of teams like ourselves asking whether we’re the right fit. “You can’t dismiss anyone. You have to think of all the strikers who are available.
“There’s a very small market for us. (Adebayor’s) in that group. Not just for us, but for plenty of Premier League clubs.”
