Pellegrini Praises Iheanacho After Southampton Brace

Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini is pleased to see Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho get on the score sheet again despite his side's insipid display against Southampton on Sunday.
Pellegrini who made made eight changes from the side that drew goalless against Real Madrid with the second leg of that tie to come this week noted that he was delighted the 19-year-old bagged his second brace of his season.
“It’s very important for a player to score goals. I was happy with the way he played today. I’m happy for him with the goals that he scored,” Pellegrini told reporters.
The Chilean watched as Sadio Mane scored a hat-trick to hand Manchester City their tenth defeat of the season and throw the top four race open.
Iheanacho who has been called up for the Super Eagles' friendlies against Mali and Luxemborg has scored 13 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for City this season.
